Hello All!! On Friday, Dad took a half day vacation and we headed to the Illinois State Fair. We all had a wonderful time and both Aidan and Ethan were perfectly behaved!! First we went to see all of the animals. Because it was nearing the end of the fair, there were fewer than we would have liked, but we still enjoyed them none-the-less. Aidan loved the cows. He even enjoyed milking one. He got a special button and a free half-pint of chocolate milk for his endeavor.
It was hot, but not a scorcher. We had to take a break in a 4H building to cool off. There were neat displays of butterflies and other insects pinned in boxes. Aidan liked the selection of bees and wasps. He reminded me how he was stung last week.
The animals in the stalls had lots of fans to cool them off, and of course, Aidan had point out all of them (including the extension cords). He was in a near "fan paradise".
In the Conservation World section of the fair, they had a pond where kids could fish. After listening to the instuctions (I hope this bodes well for preschool), he went fishing for the first time. He caught 3 fish (the max)!! Ethan was just trying to catch a nap.

By the end of the day (5 hours in Springfield) Mom had crazy hair, and Dad's feet hurt. But we had a blast!
